About Juan Evans
My wife and I chose Adams 12 as the place to raise our two daughters, who are both still attending Adams 12 schools. I’m a Colorado native, born and raised right here in Metro Denver. When we started planning our family, we knew we wanted our children to grow up in the Adams 12 Five Star Schools community.
Public education gave me the foundation to succeed. I always saw myself as college-bound, and I had teachers, counselors, and mentors who pushed me to excel. Thanks to their support, I went on to graduate from Metro State University. I’m grateful to those who believed in my potential, and I’m committed to making sure other students are given that same opportunity.
Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours volunteering in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, and helping with sports and activities. Wanting to do more, I joined the Board of the Adams 12 Five Star Foundation. That experience has given me a broader perspective on the challenges students, families, and staff face every day, and the solutions we can work on together.
Professionally, my background is in finance, banking, and business development. I bring skills in budgeting, process improvement, and creating strategies for success. I also understand the important difference between governing and supervising. My career has always been about helping people find their pathway to success. I’ve been honored to serve on several boards, including the Thornton Area Chamber of Commerce, where I’ve worked on aligning the skills students need with what our local businesses look for in employees, while also advocating for and connecting businesses with each other.
I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other board members, staff, parents, students, and community members to make sure every student has access to the education and support they need to succeed. You can count on me to listen, learn, and act. I ask for your support and your vote.
My Priorities for Adams 12 School Board
Financial Responsibility
With state and federal funding shrinking, we must be smart and efficient with our resources. I’ll use my financial expertise to ensure taxpayer dollars are managed with accountability, transparency, and focused on students and classrooms, not bureaucracy.
Parent Partnerships
As a parent, I know firsthand how critical it is for families to be actively involved in their children’s education. Parents should always be seen as true partners in the process.
Academic Excellence & Career Pathways
Every student should leave school prepared to succeed, whether that means college, career, or other opportunities. That starts with mastering the basics and continues by building clear pathways to careers and self-sufficiency. I’ll bring my experience working with businesses to help strengthen those connections.
Safe & Supportive Schools
Students, staff, and families deserve to feel safe and supported in our schools. That means ensuring staff members have the tools to maintain discipline, students can focus on learning, and school resource officers are available to protect our campuses.
